This is a 1944 Christmas Card from an Airman in 114 (Hong Kong) Squadron Royal Air Force.

During World War II, No. 114 (Hong Kong) Squadron of the Royal Air Force served primarily as a light bomber unit, gaining distinction as the first RAF squadron to be equipped with the Bristol Blenheim.

In April 1943, the squadron converted to the Douglas Boston light bomber.

It participated in the invasion of Sicily and moved to Italy in October 1943, where it remained active attacking enemy communications and airfields until the end of the European war.

The card measures 150mm x 102mm and is in an overall good condition for its age.

To the front is the 114 Squadron Motif and its Motto.

On the reverse is a personal message from the Airman to a loved one.

The photographs are of the actual item and form part of the description.
