An exceptional, completely original British Army 1897 Pattern Infantry Officer's Sword manufactured by the legendary Wilkinson Sword Co. Ltd. in London.

This specific piece is beautifully personalized and heavily etched to an officer in the Royal Army Ordnance Corps (RAOC), featuring the regimental crest surmounted by the St. Edward’s Crown.

The spine of the blade is crisply stamped with the unique Wilkinson serial number 88399, which officially dates its forging to the year 1965 during the height of the Cold War.

The handwritten dockets for this sword are fully traceable via the Wilkinson ledger archives at the National Army Museum.

The Blade is in excellent condition with clean, deep, vibrant frosting on the geometric and regimental etchings.

Straight spine with no edge nicks.

The Hilt & Guard plating is bright and well-preserved.

Shagreen grip skin is 100% complete with incredibly tight wire wraps.

The Scabbard is solid, straight, and fits the blade perfectly with expected minor age patina.

The Sword Knot an intact gold braid and acorn structure, the leather transit wrap shows authentic field wear but remains supple and structurally sound.
