The No. 94 Energa Practice Rifle Grenade is the inert, training version of the Belgian-designed anti-tank weapon used extensively by the British Army during the Cold War.
Adopted in 1952, it replaced the WWII-era PIAT as the primary infantry anti-tank weapon.
It was fired from a spigot projector attached to the muzzle of a Lee-Enfield No. 4 rifle or later the L1A1 SLR.
The grenade is propelled by a special ballistite-filled blank cartridge.
For the L1A1 SLR, this blank was distinctively marked with blackening on the bottom half of the brass.
This example is in a overall good condition with some wear to the paint work.
