Original British WWI Era Officer’s Folding Trench Lantern With Case.
In original untouched condition, the lantern and case are both dated 1916 and bare the Birmingham makers name "Parkinson and W. & B. Cowan Ltd".
They also have the War Department broad arrow mark and the number "4", and the case also bares a letter "G".
The thin gauge glass panes are all intact and in good order. We believe they are original apart from one which was replaced due to damage.
The leather carry strap on the case is complete but is starting to show signs of wear and age related cracking. A good leather balm should be applied regularly.
Lantern is 32cm high and 16cm wide when constructed.
