Authentic World War II Period Cap Badge for Other Ranks of the Lothians and Border Horse Yeomanry.

This is a beautiful, die-struck brass badge featuring the traditional heraldic wheatsheaf (garb) insignia bound tightly in the centre.

This design was proudly worn by the regiment through both World Wars.

During the Second World War, the regiment served as a mechanised reconnaissance unit.

The 1st Lothians and Border Horse landed in France in 1940 as part of the 51st (Highland) Infantry Division and fought heroically during the retreat to Dunkirk before being forced to surrender at St. Valéry-en-Caux.

The 2nd Lothians and Border Horse was later reformed as part of the 6th Armoured Division, seeing heavy armoured combat through the campaigns in North Africa and Italy.
