  This is an original WW2 Burma Star Medal.

The Burma Star was a British Commonwealth campaign medal awarded for operational service in the gruelling Burma Campaign (Dec 1941 - Sep 1945) and specified areas of India, China, Hong Kong, Malaya, and Sumatra, recognising bravery against Japanese forces in one of WWII's toughest theatres.
