original World War II British Army Haversack, Light, Mark II, designed to carry the wartime lightweight service respirator.
Manufactured by Gimson & Slater (G&S) and dated 1943.
The olive-green cotton canvas body is in robust, solid condition with excellent colour.
The canvas fabric remains strong throughout without any major frayed holes, rot, or heavy field staining.
Features the original tan webbing shoulder sling and rear belt loops, which are firmly stitched and fully intact.
The main flap brass eyelet and both side-pocket metal press-studs (snaps) are present, secure, and function perfectly.
Clean internal compartments, featuring the inner bottom canvas retaining flap with its original snap fastener.
The underside of the main flap features black ink stamps confirming its authentic wartime production.
