Original WWII Canadian Infantry Corps "ACER" Cap Badge – King's Crown

An original World War II-era Canadian Infantry Corps (CIC) cap badge featuring the pre-1953 King's (Tudor) Crown.

This piece features excellent visual details, including the central crossed rifles, three maple leaves, and the lower scroll bearing the historic Latin motto "ACER" (meaning swift, keen, and eager).

Formed in 1942, the Canadian Infantry Corps badge served a vital role as the universal "umbrella" insignia for the Canadian Army during the height of the Second World War.

Rather than denoting a single specific field regiment, this insignia was issued to unposted reinforcements, recruits, and soldiers undergoing active deployment training at instruction centres before they were allocated to front-line fighting units.

Once fully qualified and assigned to their active regiment, soldiers would trade this temporary badge for their permanent regimental insignia.

This makes it an essential piece of history representing the foundational mobilisation of the Canadian war effort.

This badge is in a very good condition with lugs and pin to the rear.
