This is a post-1952 pattern cap badge for The Rocky Mountain Rangers, a Primary Reserve infantry regiment of the Canadian Army based in British Columbia.

This is a  traditionally struck, heavy bi-metal variant from the early Queen Elizabeth II era, preceding the military's widespread shift to lightweight anodised aluminium.

The badge features a central white metal bighorn ram's head securely affixed to a brass/gilding metal maple leaf wreath.

The top features the distinct St. Edward's Crown (Queens Crown), and the bottom scroll displays the historic regiment motto "KLOSHE NANITCH".".

The reverse features a long, flat brass slider fitting.

It is cleanly die-stamped with the crisp sans-serif manufacturer mark: "J.R. GAUNT B'HAM".

The absence of "Ltd" or "London" marks this as a high-quality post-war contract piece struck at Gaunt's historic Birmingham foundry, placing its production window between 1953 and the late 1960s..

This badge is in a very good condition.
