Post War Soviet-era Mosin Nagant Dual Compartment Oil Bottle in a good used condition complete with pouch.
While single-chamber bottles became more common with later rifles, these dual-spout versions were widely produced from just after WWII through the 1970s.
The dual-chamber design allowed soldiers to carry two different essential cleaning fluids in one compact container:
- Chamber "Щ" (Shcha): Stands for shcheloch (щелочь), which is an alkaline solvent or lye used to clean out corrosive primer salts and carbon fouling from the rifle's bore.
- Chamber "Н" (En): Stands for neft (нефть), which is a neutral mineral oil used for general lubrication and to protect the metal from rust after cleaning.
The bottle is accompanied by a brown faux leather carry pouch, which features a snap closure.
