A Rare Early Third Reich Deutscher Luftsportverband (DLV) / Luftwaffe Visor Cap Wreath & Cockade Set.
This two-piece set includes the iconic wide-winged oak leaf wreath frame and its original, standalone multi-piece national tricolour cockade.
Dating from the Transitional Interwar / Early Third Reich period C. 1933–1935.
The Deutscher Luftsportverband (DLV) (German Air Sports Association) was formed in March 1933 as a civilian aviation organisation.
Its true purpose was to secretly train military pilots and build the foundation for the future German Air Force, bypassing the interwar Treaty of Versailles restrictions.
This specific wide-wing badge layout is the direct transitional precursor to the standardised Luftwaffe cap insignia introduced later in the 1930s.
The aluminium winged wreath and national cockade are both in very good condition.
The reverse retains its early-style flat metal attachment prongs.
The wreath frame still has its long horizontal hat-band pins, and the cockade has both of its original central folding tabs intact.
The photographs are of the actual item and form part of the description.
