Here is an exceptional, 100% authentic matching pair of early interwar German paramilitary collar tabs, historically attributed to either a regional Freikorps battalion or an early Weimar-era Sturmabteilung (SA) detachment.

Dating precisely from the mid-to-late 1920s (circa 1926–1929), this set beautifully represents the transitional, localised uniform regulations that predated the standardised Nazi Party colour systems of 1929.

Crafted on a pitch-black velvet wool cloth backing, wrapped in a striking, tightly twisted multi-ply cord featuring the traditional Imperial German colours (Reichsfarben) of red, white, and black.

Stamped metal Arabic numerals "12" affixed to the front of each tab, designating SA-Standarte 12 (headquartered in Bitterfeld, Mitte region) or a corresponding early interwar volunteer detachment.

The reverse sides of these tabs exhibit textbook period tailoring methods.

The black velvet is cleanly folded and wrapped around a natural, coarse tan buckram/burlap stiffener core.

The stamped metal numerals are anchored securely using flat, malleable metal prongs manually crimped over the buckram base.

The imperial piping is hand-stitched around the perimeter, with raw cord ends neatly tucked and fastened at the corners.

In an unissued, mint condition.

Size approx. 85mm x 38mm.
