An original Late Cold War Soviet Airborne Forces (VDV) Canvas Jump Helmet
An outstanding, authentic piece of late-era Soviet militaria.
This is a soft padded canvas jump helmet manufactured for the Soviet VDV (Airborne Forces) in the final months of the Soviet Union.
Unlike the vast majority of Soviet surplus headgear found today—which usually survives only in very small sizes (54–56)—this specific helmet features a highly coveted and incredibly rare Size 62 (Extra Large), making it perfect for both practical historical re-enactment use and prominent display.
The helmet is in an excellent vintage condition.
Appears to be unissued "New Old Stock" (NOS).
Crisp khaki/olive-drab cotton canvas with absolutely zero fraying, tears, or staining.
The internal lining is clean and the white forehead cushion strip is stark and immaculate, showing no signs of sweat or field wear.
Metal ventilation eyelets are completely secure with no corrosion.
The inner lining features a perfect, highly legible crisp factory stamp reading:
• ОТК 10: Checked and passed by the Technical Control Department Inspector #10.
• РОСТ 62: Head size 62 cm (Modern Men's XL).
• І - 1991 г.: Manufactured in the 1st Quarter of 1991, just months before the dissolution of the USSR.
