The 7th (Princess Royal's) Dragoon Guards Cap Badge

The 7th (Princess Royal's) Dragoon Guards.

In 1720 this regiment was styled 'Ligonier's Horse' after its long-term Colonel, Earl Ligonier.

Though the Royal Warrant of 1751 deleted the devices of regimental colonels from colours and guidons, his crest (a lion rampant issuing from a coronet) was to reappear, over his motto Quo fata vocant ("Wherever fate calls'), as the cap badge of this regiment in 1898.

At first in white metal, then, from 1906, all in brass.

In a very good used condition.

Metal with pin and lugs to the rear.
