British Women’s Voluntary Services (WVS) Civil Defence uniform beret.
This vintage beret is made of felt fabric and is in bottle-green which is a signature colour of the WVS ("Ladies in Green").
To the front is a claret/red embroidered fabric cap badge on the front reading "WVS CIVIL DEFENCE" topped by a Queens Crown.
The interior features a tan/brown leather sweatband along the inner rim and features a clear silver-white contract stamp from J. Compton Sons & Webb Ltd., London.
This item is in an overall good vintage condition but does have some wear and slight moth damage.
Size is approx. 6 5/8 (54cms).
