This badge was issued by the College of Midwives during the brief window between 1941 and 1947, right before they were granted their Royal charter to become the Royal College of Midwives (RCM).

It features a beautifully embossed pomegranate tree—the classic historical symbol of fertility—flanked by the letters "C M".

The founding year of the original association (1881) is stamped below the roots.

The bottom features a vivid blue enamel scroll bearing the Latin phrase "VITA DONUM DEI" (Life is the Gift of God).

The reverse is fully stamped on the back with the maker's mark: "Thomas Fattorini Ltd, Regent St, Birmingham".

It is in a very good vintage condition with a beautiful natural patina.

The blue enamel work is completely intact without any major chips or cracks.

The original rear hinge and pin mechanism are present and function perfectly.

Height: Approx. 34 mm
