Vintage Scottish MacDowall Clan Badge - White Metal - Vincere Vel Mori

This is a Vintage Scottish MacDowall Clan Badge.

These badges are traditionally worn on a gentleman's bonnet (such as a Glengarry or Balmoral hat) as part of Highland dress, but they are also frequently used as kilt pins or fashion brooches.

The front depicts the crest of the MacDowell Clan and the motto "VINCERE VEL MORI", which translates to "To Conquer or Die" (or "Victory or Death"). 

Made from a white metal alloy or pewter and stamped "MADE IN BRITAIN" which dates this to the mid-20th century (circa 1950s–1980s).

It's in a very good condition with pin to the rear.
