A rare First World War period '28th County of London Artists Rifles silver sweetheart brooch'.

Silver on tortoiseshell depicting the heads of the Roman gods Mars and Minerva in profile, with 'Artists Rifles' title scroll below.

The reverse bearing London hallmarks for 1917 and maker's details 'C&A'.

Excellent condition, retaining original pin fittings.

Diameter 27mm.
