An original WW1 Kent Volunteer Fencibles (VTC) Cap Badge.

The Kent Volunteer Fencibles (KVF) were part of a unique home-front mobilisation during the First World War.

They served as precursors to the more famous World War II Home Guard.

The Kent Volunteer Fencibles were officially raised in 1915 via public subscription and the unit was composed entirely of men who were ineligible for regular military service.

The KVF operated under the broader umbrella of the Volunteer Training Corps (VTC).

In 1916, the Kent Volunteer Fencibles were integrated into the county's established frontline regiment.

They officially formed four Volunteer Battalions under the Queen's Own (Royal West Kent Regiment), distributed strategically across the region.

Following the armistice in November 1918, the threat dissolved, and the KVF, along with the rest of the VTC, was systematically disbanded.

This badge is in a very good condition.

Bi-metal with slider to the rear.
