Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel.

Height 29mm.

Voluntary Workers For The Forces was approved by the War Office in 1940.

Member's would have to complete three months (about 600 hours) of voluntary work in aid of the war effort work before they could qualify for the badge.

The Women’s Voluntary Service (WVS) helped over 10,000 people every night during the Blitz.

They provided round-the-clock food and drink from mobile canteens for the Air Raid Protection wardens and firemen.

There was no compulsory uniform and many volunteers simply wore the badge on their lapel.
