This specialised historical piece was handcrafted by a soldier or artisan during World War 1 using an up-cycled, tapered brass artillery shell fuse cover or nose cone.

The front features an applied brass Royal Artillery collar badge or Officers cap badge, depicting a 7-flame grenade over a scroll inscribed with the motto "UBIQUE".

Soldiers cut and brazed the brass casing, adding a curved metal tab on the lip to serve as a cigarette or cigar rest.

Due to their unique dual-shape, these items occasionally functioned alternatively as egg cups or small desk tidies.

In a good antique condition with a beautiful, uncleaned natural aged patina.

An excellent, tactile piece of Great War history for any militaria, trench art, or tobacciana collector..

 Height approx: 2.5" (61mm)
