WWII Canadian Army Carleton and York Regiment OR's Brass Cap Badge

An authentic, original World War II era other ranks brass cap badge for the Carleton and York Regiment, an elite infantry unit of the Canadian Army that served with distinction during the Italian Campaign and North-West Europe. 

Formed in New Brunswick, Canada, in December 1936 through amalgamation, the Carleton and York Regiment mobilised for active service on 1 September 1939.

As part of the 2nd Canadian Infantry Brigade, 1st Canadian Infantry Division, they landed in Sicily in 1943 and fought through the brutal, gritty mountain warfare of the Italian Campaign (including the Liri Valley and Hitler Line) before transferring to North-West Europe in 1945.

This badge is in an overall very good condition.
