This is an original World War II-era cap badge for The British Columbia Regiment (Duke of Connaught's Own Rifles).

This historically significant piece of Canadian militaria features a beautiful die-struck design detailing the extensive combat accomplishments of the unit spanning the Second Boer War through the end of the Great War.

During World War II, this regiment transitioned into an armoured role.

It mobilised as the 28th Armoured Regiment (The British Columbia Regiment), CAC and deployed overseas as part of the 4th Canadian Armoured Division.

The unit participated in major tactical deployments across Northwest Europe, including:

Normandy Breakout Operations: Landing in France in July 1944 and heavily engaging in the Falaise Pocket encirclements (including the brutal fighting at Worthington Force / Hill 111).

The Low Countries: Advancing through Belgium and fighting across the flooded terrain of the Netherlands during the Scheldt estuary clearings.

The Rhineland & Germany: Punching through the Hochwald gap and across the northern German plains to finish the war near the Baltic Coast.

This badge is in a good uncleaned condition.

White metal with lugs to the rear.
