This is a genuine WWII cap badge belonging to The Calgary Highlanders, one of Western Canada's most celebrated infantry regiments.
The design deeply reflects both Canadian nationalism and Scottish martial traditions.
The prominent background features the Saltire (Cross of St. Andrew) flanked by Scottish thistles.
The central motif depicts a beaver on a log framed by maple leaves—a direct homage to the historic 10th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force (CEF) from World War I, which this regiment perpetuates.
During World War II the unit saw heavy, heroic combat in Northwest Europe, most notably during the Battle of Normandy, the Battle of the Scheldt, and the Walcheren Causeway.
This badge is in a good uncleaned condition.
Brass with lugs and pin to the rear.
The photographs are of the actual item and form part of the description.
