WWII Canadian Forestry Corps Cap Badge – “Sawdust Fusiliers”

An original, die-stamped brass cap badge of the Canadian Forestry Corps (CFC), dating from the Second World War era.

This piece features a striking design incorporating a central coniferous tree flanked by the regiment's title, a base of Canadian maple leaves, and the King's Tudor Crown resting at the apex.

Nicknamed the "Sawdust Fusiliers," the Canadian Forestry Corps played a vital but often overlooked logistical role in both World Wars.

Re-formed in May 1940 to combat severe timber shortages in Britain, thousands of skilled Canadian lumberjacks deployed to the UK.

Operating heavily across the Scottish Highlands, the CFC harvested massive quantities of timber required for airfield runways, pit props, trench reinforcements, and ammunition crates.

This badge represents the vital contributions of overseas Commonwealth forces to the British home front and the European liberation effort.

This badge is in a good uncleaned condition.
