A WWII Foreign Service Wolseley pattern pith helmet.
With a canvas and felt interior, leather headband and leather chinstrap.
Stamped to the interior headband with makers mark Hobson & Sons, War Department broad arrow mark and dated 1939,
It comes in what we believe to be the original Japanned Helmet Tin, in a fair to good condition.
The size markings in the helmet are faded but seems to be 6⅞ (56cms).
The helmet is in an overall good condition and shows light, honest surface grime and mild water staining/fading consistent with age.
There is some minor fraying along the edges of the multi-fold cloth pagri band, but the fabric remains intact without large tears, holes, or extensive rotting. insignia to the front.
