An authentic, original matched pair of World War II German Army Administration (Heeresverwaltung - "HV") shoulder strap/board monogram ciphers (Auflagen).
These ciphers feature the beautifully stylized, intertwined Gothic "HV" monogram worn by military officials and administrative personnel within the Wehrmacht.
Mid-to-late war period and constructed from stamped aluminium/fine zinc alloy (Feinzink).
Displays an authentic, untouched aged patina with no signs of zinc pest/rot.
Exactly 20mm in height, conforming perfectly to standard wartime military regulations for shoulder strap insignia.
Crisp, die-struck (hollow-back) detailing showing a sharp mirror-negative on the reverse side and both ciphers retain their original, flat-tapered, pointed attachment prongs securely anchored in their original lead/tin solder pools.
None of the prongs are broken, repaired, or missing, making them fully ready to be mounted.
Excellent, service-worn condition.
The face of each cipher displays crisp, clear line detailing with very light, honest wear to the highlights.
The reverse is clean, showing genuine period oxidation and secure mounting tabs.
The photographs are of the actual item and form part of the description.
