WWII Royal Canadian Corps of Signals (RCCS) Cap Badge

This is an original World War II Royal Canadian Corps of Signals (RCCS) Cap Badge. 

During World War II, the corps most noticeable rolls included:

Clandestine Operations: RCCS technicians secretly ran "Hydra," a secure, high-speed radio transmitter network at Camp X that linked MI6, Washington, and Ottawa.

The Dieppe Raid (1942): The unit suffered heavy casualties while attempting to maintain communications under fire, teaching the Allies vital lessons about waterproofing gear and frontline signalling.

D-Day & Juno Beach (1944): Landing with the first waves, they successfully laid field cables and established eight wireless networks to link advancing ground troops with naval fleets.

Signals Intelligence (SIGINT): Specialised mobile units intercepted encrypted German radio traffic, funnelling crucial data directly to codebreakers at Bletchley Park.
